Western music duo from Fort Worth, Texas, wins prestigious awards

‘Miss Devon & the Outlaw’ of Fort Worth, Texas, are the winners of the prestigious 'New Horizons' Wrangler Award for their outstanding work as artists in western music.  The duo, consisting of Devon Dawson and Jessie Robertson (aka 'Outlaw Jessie Del'), will receive the honor, based on their debut cd release, 'Where in the Dickens R U?', produced by Rich O’Brien, which takes listeners down a seriously swingy trail of cowboy-western originals and covers, offering no small touch of humor along the way.
“The inspiration for the song, Where in the Dickens Are You?, came from a girls' road trip and a bar-b-que meal they shared in Dickens, Texas,” said Devon Dawson. It took a few weeks to get around to it, but the girls (including Teresa Burleson and Kristyn Harris) and Jessie Robertson finally crafted the song which became the title cut.

The New Horizons award is given to a recording artist or band that is in the first five years of their career.
